Dietitian San Franciscans on the Job
By Patricia Tompkins, WSJ-NBC NewsThe latest jobs numbers out Monday indicate the U.S. economy added more than 9 million jobs last month, the most since May 2010, but the unemployment rate remained at a 10-year high.
Employment gained by 6.4 million people in September, while the unemployment level remained at 10.3%.
The unemployment rate rose to 10.4% in September from 10.2% in August, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said.
It also marked a sharp increase from September 2010 when the rate stood at 9.9%.
In its first full month of job creation, the jobless rate fell to 5.5% from 6.8%.
